HEAD OUT OF SAND

We must get our heads out of the sand if we want to survive.

Otherwise, greed, arrogance, fear, selfishness - oh yes, self you name it, the sucking of that soulless black hole. What really matters is love, gratitude, giving and living in the present. If we just got those down we could reconnect, one to another and to the earth. We know this but we are afraid to implement it. Of course, if the picture of the world is the one painted by the media, it all looks bad. The people who are loving and giving rarely reported while all the criminals, corrupt and flailing are in our faces again and again. Heads arguing with heads, cynics ablaze, proud of their witty intellect. We all must love to fight, make everyone else look bad, gossip, laugh. Hate, basically, hate one another.

Does anyone really love one another, other than friends and family?

Yes. Look what happens when people get in trouble. The flooding compassion after a natural disaster. Where is that on a daily basis? Dormant? If we could stay in such action on a daily basis we could move mountains. Is it the adrenal rush of a disaster, then we slip back into smaller lives? I know, not everyone, by any stretch. Just the ones who aren't selling something but still have time to write a blog!
