We are not helpless, we are not victims, we do not
need to fear for our safety, we do not have to struggle endlessly with some
invisible force working against us - like making enough money, having enough of
(fill in the blank). Life is not a struggle. No one is out to get us. The world
is not an ugly, mean, terrifying place where we must fight for survival. We do
not have to fight each other. There is no lack.
Our earth is quite clearly a place of abundance,
teeming life, diversity, mind-blowing creativity, uniqueness, miracles,
breath-taking beauty, constant renewal, constant newness - life ever springing
forth, resilience, sustainability. Life relentlessly urging forward. No one can
stop any of that. It will happen.
So what are we fighting? Just our egos - our mind
chatter, or the monkey mind, and each other's egos.
We create. We are responsible. We are gifted,
strong, luminous, wise; we embody all that we need to embody. We are divine
beings, part of the Source, a spark of light from the great beam, a drop from
the ocean. We are one with that source, with God. Again, many names for what we
have yet to fully define. We are spiritual beings on a human journey, as
Teilhard de Chardin said so brilliantly and simply and profoundly. Spiritual
beings. We are governed by those principles, not the human ones by which we
thought we have had to follow and which are so unintuitive, uncomfortable,
archaic and, frankly, quite dismal.
So, freedom, again I say, freedom is at hand.
